What centre tube for a No23 MkIII gren?

I have a reasonable example of a No23 MkIII mills, and all its missing is the center tube.

I was wondering what centre tube it should have, brass or alloy.

I was thinking of getting one of dugups repros so i could use it in a display idea i have had, alongside my cutaway No5

Any advice gratefully received!

But not a No 5 alloy as they are not the same. No 23s/36s will not have the lip around the det hole. Good luck in finding one.

It's a real one !!! Bare in mind the WW1 alloy tubes are made of cast aluminium & not zinc/aluminium alloy like the WW2 ones . Email me at home , I'm sure you have my contact details ? Mike.
