What Countries used British No 69 Grenades other than the UK ?

Tony . The Portugese certainly used a lot of British equipment in the 1950-1980 period . I had a couple of very good friends who were Portugese SF in the 60's & 70's & they always favoured the No36 [standard issue to the Portugeses military] & the Sterling SMG . These were all ex British stock & I would assume they also used the 69 . Strange thing but the Portugese never get the recognition for their Special Forces . They were a were a VERY hard bunch of guys .

Thanks for that Mike, sounds interesting, it's not something you hear much about as you say.

I guess their service in Angola was not very popular back then in the view of many others. Looking at history all such forces (in such situs) tend to be disregarded.

I noted that the manual has (Can) after the designation. Likely means Canada. I know Canada sent a lot of No. 36 and No. 69 grenades to Nato allies, perhaps this is some of that aid.
