Hi its def a 4.5 inch MK 8 Naval here's some pic's of mine should have took them through the day bit fuzzy .RLB 96 dated, the star has a dummy fuze until I get the correct one , your date is 89 . one of mine has 3 xxx through RLB and WW through 89 date not sure what these are for ?? and a WWII head stamp

Hello. thanks for the reply. Shed some more light on it for me. I have another case, complete with a projectile, it also has the RLB crossed out. Ive no idea what projectile it is though. Its been restored by the look of it. The fuse has no thread and its held in place by a screw into a bit of wood which has been pressed in the projectile. Its not the best example but it was cheap so i bought it. Very nice star round you have also.
