What is 12,7mm MP and MP-T

I saw this label in the lid of an H83 box on eBay. It is for linked 12,7mm (.50 BMG) ammunition used by the UK.

RA is Raufoss Norway.

MP L1A1 and MP-T L3A1 have been mentioned in Hansard, but I cannot find any explanation of what type of projectile MP is. I assume MP-T is simply a Tracer variant.

Does MP mean Multi-Purpose, and what type of projectile is it?

I also think MP stands for multi-purpose. Combination of several effects (HE/FRAG/INCENDIARY for example)
