What would a WWI chlorine gas attack look like?

I believe that was a 25 ton intermodal or Isotank.

o yes i see the containers now, did not see the wood for trees never knew it was transported in that bulk, as from video would not be allowed in UK.

There is very little use of rail transport for Chlorine in the UK, most is delivered by road tanker. Largest ISO for Chlorine in the UK is about 14 tonnes and is usually sized to meet a customers specific requirements. Each tank is designated to a specific customer.

Much of the water treatment in the US still revolves around chlorine. We have multiple types of Toxic Inhalation Hazards (TIH) type materials moving around in railcars across the US. Another big one is Ethylene Oxide. It does a long list of bad things to a person upon contact.

Videos of chlorine gas clouds being released for testing. This is exactly what an early WWI gas attack would have looked like being released from cylinders.
