WW1 Caltrop

Here's something with a bit of history.

My wife's Grandfather was an ambulance driver in the first world war. He brought this caltrop home with him. At some time he decided to paint it blue to stop it rusting, apparently it was grey previously. For years it sat by his bed with his pocket watch hanging from it. A few years ago my father in law passed it to me. Because its been looked after so well for so many years it doesn't look that old, but thanks to good family provenance I've no doubt it is.
