WW1 German 76mm Minenwerfer message shell ????

[h=1]I picked this shell up at a flea market this past summer, I didn’t know what it was but I knew that it was difference than any other shell which I have seen before. I took it to a gun show last month and the guy who had a bunch of shells looked at it and said that he have not seen it before but said that he think that it is a WW1 germen message mortar shell. I have looked around on line and I think that it is a “WW1 German 76mm Minenwerfer message shell”? Could any of your guys confirm the ID and give me any addition information. The guy said that it is a rare shell, so what do you guys thinks it is worth?[/h]

One shows up on ebay in the US every 6 months or so. They command $200-$300 in good condition.
