Hi all,

Was it correct that during WW1, the Germans had a large projectile that due to the smoke when it exploded, the allies nicknamed it after a Black - American Heavyweight fighter?

I believe it was the shells of the 210 howitzer which was nick named Jack Johnson.

The Jack Johnson was the name given to the larger version of the German 15cm shell.
