DSCN1834.jpgDSCN1835.jpgDSCN1837.jpgDSCN1836.jpgI have had this No 23 MK1 nickel plated ash tray body for many years. Made by H & T Vaughn dated 1916. Its been very well done with cut surfaces painted red and internally black. Makes me think that it originally may have been a proper sectioned grenade. It has had the back of the body flattened so it sits level which makes me think it wasnt a drill sectioned body but who knows. The only thing wrong with it is that it has a No 36 lever but as its been there a long time I am inclined to leave it as is. I wonder if its a post WW2 conversion?A nice piece for my collection, currently being used to hold paper clips.

Andy.
