WW1 Russian grenade picture

The following link takes you to an interesting WW1 picture posted on Flickr that shows a German soldier holding 2 Russian grenades. The image was posted by the Library of Congress and is from the Bain News Service collection. Near the top of the image is a date written, I believe, in pencil on the negative and shows in reverse on the image. When the image is reversed one can see the date in the proper order which I think is 6/10/15.

This is the Russian WW1 Novitski grenade for breaching barb wire obstacles. Usually they had 4 thin ropes/strings attached which had small end pieces which would entangle in barb wire obstacles.
