Hi.what visual differences besides markings is there between a ww1 and a ww2 no 36 mills grenade body?Any info would be great .Thanks.and a happy new year to you all.Darrol.

1st ww 36 mills will hase a brass filler screw and brass or aluminium centre piece and a steel or cast iron base plug. All these parts on the 2nd ww grenade will be made from zinc and have a Z stamped on them. the bodys will be identical except for cast markings on the front.
cheers, paul.

Hi Paul,
as you know I'm not a grenade man,but I'm sure I have come across WW2 dated cast iron base plugs before now?

All the best
Tony
