Hi all,

recently purchased a bombers hook on feebay and was informed by the seller that as an EOD guy for the British Military he had taken it from a 1943 box of 36 Mills grens he was deactivating in 1974. It has been in his posession since. Its much smaller and made from thinner wire thant the original 'ook' from ww1 on the left of the picture.
Does anyone know if such items were produced in WW2 or have i bought a 'pup'?
If so, at least it wasnt a lot. It seems pretty well made, very similar to the original in manufacture. I would be suprised they would have been making repros in the 1970s but you never know.

Thats the problem: "you never know". I know that there are current repros, I have no idea about the 70s. But as this grenade has been used for decades after WWII maybe they are post war hooks.
