Here is my 47mm capped projectile that is 145mm long.
There are 5 crimps holding the cap. Not sure if all are original or marks from somebody trying to unscrew the cap?

Hello Ron3350,
Not the same ; your shell is a M35 with penetration cap, others are M36 (Tuney : no tungsten) missing light magnesium ballistic caps (screwed).
It's difficult to find these caps in good condition because of the light alloy used. Shots and caps were stored separatly (a story said that gunners could fire shots without caps).

They are not tungsten tipped, but I assume the steel is an alloy with 3% tungsten, as they are really hard to cut and extremely hard to rasp, even after annealing.
