WW2 German C/32 Primer

Same size as the standard C/12nASt percussion primer, seen here is a primer marked C/32. It came in a 5cm Flak41 case but was easily removed so I don't think it was fitted to the case 'from new'. Can anybody provide anymore information about this type of primer? Thank you.

Looks like the primer has not been originally in this case. However it is correct one, so you can keep it in place.

Gentlemen - thank you for this information. Next questions - Was it used in any other weapon? What was the difference between the C/32 and more usual C/12nA primer? I presume it had a faster combustion which would be required for an automatic cannon like the 5cm Flak?

it was a standard primer which could be used in nearly all german cases with large primer hole (except cases for guns with electrical firing).

The C/12 (C/12 n/a) and C/13 (C/13 n/A) had a Boxer-style primer, the C/32 and C/33 a Berdan-style primer. The C/22 and 23 work electrical.
