Another acquisition, a 155mm M101, 1942. I did not realize it was WW2 era as I could not read the writing at the time of purchase but the price was right. After applying some oil then scotchbrite I was able to read some of the marking. Is this of WW2 style marking? It is hard to read as there is some pitting and very noticeable ridges from the lathe? Machining process? Under magnification glass it reads, "Lot 106-69-1942 LET 155 MM M101". There is also a Flaming Bomb logo below the driving bands and four weight stamping dots at the nose. What do you think, WW2?...( I know, even tho it says -1942 who knows what it means).....added, forgot, four 1/4 in holes are drilled in the center body and stamped near a hole " X20 R".
