Hello everyone

I have stumbled upon a rather heavy shell. it had a bottom fuse and has dual drive belts.
is 150mm in caliber and had a length of 480mm.

the shell is marked with L10/41 K P S

does anybody know what this is?
the 37mm pompom for size compare

Safe bet would be a German 15 cm Armour piercing projectile. I guess it might be missing piercing cap and ballistic shield.

maybe it's a german 15 cm Pzgr L/3,8 (Naval & Army use in different guns) without it's cap and windshield but I think it's much to long.

//Edit: I found a 15 cm L/4,3 which would fit much better than a L/3,8.

what would a similar projectile look like when complete? does anyone have picture or drawing?

regards

Hello,

L/3.8 is about 553mm long with cap but different shape on base (cut)
L/4.3 is about 636mm long with cap. Same shape.

Regards

I have this picture in my archives and I think it's a 15cm L/4.3 without cap (fitted with adapter). Very similar to your shell.
The shell is placed on a wooden board on the picture.

In smaller calibre rounds the caps were soldered on, wouldn't be surprised if this was too.
This, being an adapter, might have been fixed some other way. I'm sure "Minen" can give a definitive answer.
