WW2 RG-42 Collection

Here are photos to share of my ugly wartime RG-42 grenade collection.
For some reason, these are hard to find grenades, but been pretty lucky so far finding a few.

There are a few different examples of the way they attached the fuzes wells.
Also there is one type of RG-42 pictured that was I think made specifically to be able to slide the RGD-33 frag sleeve onto it. Not sure if this true though, but the frag sleeve fits on and off easily.

Very, very nice collection Steve!
I had a same RG-42 what don't had upper edge. I didn't know why. But I thought, because for can upgrade with RGD-33's frag-sleeve. So I'am don't stupid, and I'am right??
I can find of this model so far only one piece.
But why do you upgraded the normal model (first of the second line)?

Thanks Miguel. Nice grenades you have too. I also like the type with the RGD-33 sleeve. They are a hard to find RG-42. This has reminded me, I will have to check, I think I might be able to get another one for the collection.

I disagree Miguel, I don't have all of them.........I see 3 more sitting in Spain I don't have :frown:

Janos, no you were not stupid to think this about upgrade-RGD-33 sleeve. I am not sure if this was the official way they were to be used, I have only seen pics, nothing in a manual or document about them.

You have a good eye John, I upgraded the normal model with the frag sleeve..I put the sleeve on the grenade to hide some holes in the body :wink:

But also......In my opinion, I think during WW2, some soldiers or partisans "might" have done this to "normal models". I would think for sure, that at least "maybe a few" of the millions of soldiers and partisans could have added a RGD-33 frag sleeve to the normal model RG-42's.
