A friend recently acquired this and has asked me to try and find out a bit more about it and ideally some indication of its value.

All information on what it is and roughly what it's worth greatly appreciated.

as this item is german origin, the exact name would be "Werkzeugpatrone" (tool cartridge)

Ist is said, that some fakes exist, but for that I have no accurate data.
