WWII German submarine "Biber"

I bumped into this large well made model at the Allentown Forks of Delaware gun show https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biber_(submarine), it was sold right after I took pictures.

I will bet the real one had to fire both torpedoes as a salvo - rather hard to maneuver with just one attached.

An old post that I just stumbled upon. The model might look nice, but several details of the kleinstuboot is wrong, and the torpedo is almost pure fantasy... (modelmakers in general have no clue in regards to german WW2 torpedoes - probably basing their instructions on what they see in museums, that are almost just as cluless :-( ).

That was certainly an issue in the beginning, were the "Biber" tended to capsize after launching one torpedo. The solution was to reduce the weight of the G7e(TIIIc) torpedoes by removing one of the two batterypacks. To maintain the range 0f 5000 m, the power-outake was reduced to a speed of just 17,5 kn.
