Specialist Auctions

Hi Tony,
Totally agree with you.
I can promise a minimum of 600 listings.
The problem with SA is looking dire,we have had a few days down here and there, but not this long.
As the moderator for the under 20mm section of SA i have received many emails concerning SA offline so, yesterday,i emailed the site owners about this problem, the email was returned undeliverable.
What happens now?
Terry.

I have had responses from them Terry, and apparently the problem isn't with SA it's the site host server. Strange nevertheless as you would have thought it could have been sorted by now, and communication is never good with them at the best of times!

It appears this SA can't even be googled. Hope it comes back some good stuff turns up when it does.

I`m with SG500 - The Fairs/shows are always a nice experience & more sociable than online dealings. Unfortunately there`s always the risk (& expense) of travelling to a Fair & not finding anything or enough to make it worthwhile.

Depends how you view what you want to achieve I suppose?

I never rely on the show itself to come up with the goods, that's just the icing on the cake if I find something. I usually line up several deals I've done and meet up with the people involved at the show. Works for me anyway :tinysmile_twink_t2:

An update from the SA site owners:

"... the hosting company's server packed up completely and they were unable to rebuild which you would expect from a good hosting company. I made the decision to try to rebuild the site completely with the most current auction software available and it looks as if we may have been successful, first signs are promising. I will know more later. If it works we will be able to offer many new features and all the functions will work properly. I believe we may be there very soon."

So I guess watch that space. I'll keep everyone up to speed when I find out anymore.

The latest news is that SA is about to re-launch here - www.specialistauctions.net - note the change from .com. There are some finishing touches to complete but you can now view the new format. I would suggest that you might want to wait until tomorrow or Thursday before using. As with most things, it will probably take time to get used to it but it looks far more vibrant than it did, so lets hope it works!!

Can't log in with my old username/password, do we all have to re register?

Looking good Darren......but either I sold hell of a lot of items while it was down or they have got lost somewhere:wink:

Tony

Just gone to site & logged in with original details - seems ok & looks good
I`ll just need some time to learn to navigate around again!!
As Tony a fewwatched items seem to be missing from original site - but maybe still a bit of work going on & tweakings so not meant as criticism.
Good to see SA back & well done with the job to all those involved

Darrol (Burney Davis) - Please continue making an alternative to the New Specialist Auctions. The NEW SA looks and operates terribly. Even though there may be teething problems which I fully understand, it is a complete disaster. They could not have done a worse job if they had tried. I hate it. I cannot imagine ANYBODY liking this site and whould like to hear WHY anybody feels this site is a fraction as good as the old one. VVVV Disappointed. M
