20mm Hispano

Hi I picked this 20mm Hispano up today and would i be right in thinking its a standard ball round its headstamp is B.M.A.R.C 20mm MkI Z and dated 1939 do anybody know who made it please.

British Manufacturing & Research Company probably . I think they were based in Lincolnshire .
 
Thanks Mike that sounds about right and just checked the annulus and its purple so must be ball.

Yes, in Grantham. BMARCo was the British subsidiary of Hispano Suiza, and was specifically set up in the late 1930s to manufacture the French Hispano HS.404 for the RAF.

I have tried to get as many different WWII Headstamp ones that I can and I think I have about 10 or 12 so far!! So possibly a bit of a `how longs a piece of string` question!!
I like these and Oerlikon 20mm`s.
I hope over summer to sort a bit more of mine out & hang them in belted links.

Sorry Andy. I just thought that as it sort of started as a headstamp questiobn that was it!! LOL
Otherwise yes quite a few variants on projectiles. HE, Ball, AP, HET, HETSD etc!
