Hi I picked this 20mm Hispano up today and would i be right in thinking its a standard ball round its headstamp is B.M.A.R.C 20mm MkI Z and dated 1939 do anybody know who made it please.
Regards
Andy
Yes, in Grantham. BMARCo was the British subsidiary of Hispano Suiza, and was specifically set up in the late 1930s to manufacture the French Hispano HS.404 for the RAF.
Thanks T for confirming that, iam going to start collecting them i think as they are a nice looking round, do you know how many different ones were made?
Cheers
Andy
Hi Andy
I have tried to get as many different WWII Headstamp ones that I can and I think I have about 10 or 12 so far!! So possibly a bit of a `how longs a piece of string` question!!
I like these and Oerlikon 20mm`s.
I hope over summer to sort a bit more of mine out & hang them in belted links.
Regards
Sorry Andy. I just thought that as it sort of started as a headstamp questiobn that was it!! LOL
Otherwise yes quite a few variants on projectiles. HE, Ball, AP, HET, HETSD etc!
