4 inch Shell case ID Please

This is a 4 inch dia. shell case that has been cut down to make an ashtray. There are no markings on it. Can anyone tell me anything about it please?

Apologies for putting this post in the wrong section. I haven't yet found a way of removing it from 'Fuzes'!
