47mm fuze

I have this 47mm French HE projectile but none of the fuzes I have will fit it. The gain/thread on them is too large in diameter. Has anyone got a picture, sketch or one of the fuzes? What is it's designation?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

Some of these 47mm are fitted with a 22/31 fuse .

Hello,

the most used fuze for this shell is the Desmaret fuze. It's the very common fuze for little and medium caliber of french artillery.
I shall try tomorrow to find a picture of it.

Deasmaresk Fuze

The fuze will be identical to the kind on the 37mm projectiles. Except for the size since I presume B.D. has tried the 37mm size fuze already and was dissappointed. I think it will be very difficult to find a larger one sadly.

Hello

As I can see in my doc, this shell was modified to use the 18/28mm double effect fuze and we can see the nose is cut more than it was necessary for the (small) demarest fuze.
So, I guess for id this shell as "47mm 1888-M Modifi".
