Picked up this ons free with the fuze, something like 290 lbs if I rember correctly.
Go on Andy ,quit the gym and spend the membership fees on a 9.2" .I was offered one , cheap many years ago but set my limit at 6"/ 150mm and saved my back
Wow that's great thanks for showing, did you restore it yourself ?
Cheers
Andy
Yes I did, it wasn't that bad as it still had the turning Marks on it which I've tried to keep , if I remember correctly it was pock pock marked for about 1\3 - 1/2 of its surface the trouble with it is that it sweats if the temperature changes too quickly.
I have a solid Practice ? projectile with a deep cavity in the nose and I put a rep.230? fuze in it.
My other one is a fired flat top practice or proof?
It is heavy and if it falls over so difficult to stand up due to the weight. No tapered nose to balance it.
It is too hard to move them and photograph unless I get many requests. No original paint.
Thanks for all the 8" photos and info. Ron.
8 inch as stated and possibly Australian. I will have to check any base marks as not listed in my files.
PLUS the job of brushing off the dust and cobwebs from 2 years. Then to do the photos. Will take a few days as busy with antique auctions on Saturday plus two ACCA collectors auctions where I placed $5K worth of bids. I hope I get them cheaper this time but who knows.
We were locked down for a week after some Melbourne Lepers spread corona but none in Ballarat,Vic so I may live for another few months!! I hope. Ron.
That sounds as if it wasn't in to bad of nick then, I had thought of restoring it but have decided I will just clean up the drive band and wax it and leave it be.
Cheers
Andy
Yes it is in good shape and far from being a relic which was the reason I bought it, was in two minds about filler but was glad I did, I should have marked it up as well though.

I do like the heavies so this thread got me. Thought I'd post a pic of the ones in my collection for members interested.
They include 8", 9.2" 12", 28cm, 21cm and a knackered floor.....
Cheers!
