Any ideas on this British fuze

This was found on a range area operating between 1840s to 1945. A lot of Armstrong RBL ordnance found in the location.
I've seen one somewhere but can't find any record of it now. Any ideas?

The fuze seems to be inside an adaptor- could you confirm? If it is, then one of the following pictures is probably of a similar type. They are from the collection at Firepower, now in an ammo box stored in a location somewhere near Larkhill! They are described as "Boxer concussion fuze for Whitworth common Shell" and "Boxer concussion fuze for Whitworth shrapnel Shell". Depotman

Thanks so much Depotman thats very useful. Such a shame the Firepower at Woolwich closed. Hopefully one day it will be on display once more
