Question and picture sharing for the masses ...

Here is a German AZ23 (08) umg. In the manuals I have the U.S. has this fuze listed as the AZ23 umg 0.8. The question I have are these the same? I am assuming the (08) is the .8 second delay, just stamped in a different place. Or are there 2 fuzes, one that I am showing here and then the umg 0.8 version?

I am also showing the UAZ23 umg which does show the 0.8 in the circle.

The other thing I found interesting is the double bird markings on it ...

I think the U.S. pub is wrong ...

Yes, these are the same fuzes. The U before AZ23 stands for "Unterricht", which means "Instruction".
Ammunition (parts) that are marked with a U are inert and meant for instruction purposes only. The U was mostly colored red or black.
