BOCN Guess what it is

As for some other clues: think: truppenversuch/experimental and be aware the round is missing a (crucial) part and one of this sites most active contributors has an avatar that, loosely, relates to this round.

Part of the projectile for a 7.7cm AP Round (Davis Principle) for single shot aircraft weapon SG 113A?

Looks like Tim could have nailed this one.........if I'm not mistaken........is the crucial part the rear skirt that appears to have rusted away? I've never seen one of these with such a flat base?
Dave.

Tim has the bullseye !!! (and a lot faster than I had expected).

SG113.jpg

The missing part is the forward flange (and all of the "cartridge bits" naturally :) ).
So far I've mostly encountered The Pz b version in pics and real life, and few enough of them!! This would have been a live round.

Dave, of course you are the member whose avatar I was referring to. Iff I'm not mistaken your avatar refers to the "counterpart" of the SG113 designed to combat bombers, a single shot, recoilless weapon firing an aluminum/light alloy HE/Minen round, correct ?

Over to you Tim

Regards,

Menno.

Hi Menno, yes that's where I got SG 500 from.

There's some good information on the SG 113A on these links:

Allan,

I'm rushing off to work where I will not have access to any images - to keep this going, please nominate someone to continue the thread.

Thanks

Tim

SD2 arming pin?

Yes that's right glevum. Its one from a 70 fuze. The one on the 70 has a tapered lower part, the ones on the 67 and 70 have a much broader part at the base.
Over to you glevum.
Dave.
