is it one of the acid ampules from the AC delay switch for limpet mines?
Dave was close, but Sudelmuk had it on the nose. These are the glass ampules inside the fuze for the Topf mine. The fuze itself is glass, with the two ampules containing hypergolic liquids (flash on contact). The detonator sits in the lower black plastic section, functioned when the ampules are broken and the liquids ignite.

What is the silver coloured liquid? It certainly looks like mercury.
I'm looking to see if I can find a reference that gives the components - anyone else in the meantime?

Is everyone sure that's a liquid in the silvered capsule ? It would make more sense if it was a powdered mixture of sugar & KNO3 as I don't think a liquid mixture would ignite when in contact with H2SO4 . Also , KNO3 is probably UV sensitive & that may explain the silvered lining. Thanks US-Subs, I'd be keen to identify the silver one, as it looks like mercury. Your photos appear to show a convex meniscus typical of mercury, or is that a trick of the light?
Reccetrooper - the second post identifies the silver as potassium nitrate and sugar, but these are white crystalline powders.
This ampoule is internally silver-coated (why?) and contains a clear, unknown liquid; the second, clear ampoule, sulphuric acid. An interesting question for chemists, well worth more investigation and an own thread as well.
Coming back to the 'guess what it is'-game - that's my rebus:
