BOCN Guess what it is

has something to do with smoke(on the smaller scale of things) but not a smoke/flash bomb.......a clue...lenght of whole item is 1,437mm and weighs 17.42kg

OK, how about a rocket started gyro for the guidance section of a missile, like an SS-11 or similar? Or a gas generator to power the control surfaces of a missile?

An expulsion charge for a submunition dispenser or projectile? An actuator piston for a bomb rack or stores carrier?
