BOCN Guess what it is

AGM-12B, AGM-12B-2, AGM-12B-3,
AGM-12D was a nuclear variant originally known as the GAM-83B, but redesignated the AGM-12D. This variant looked much like the AGM-12B, but had a slightly larger diameter that allowed it to carry either a conventional or tactical nuclear warhead.

...... The missile was guided to its target by the pilot with a joystick, much like a video game. It had 2 smoke generating flares that burned on each side of the main motor, so the pilot could follow its path to make course corrections......

Probably a very minor point, but wasn't the AGM12 "joystick" and control panel in the back seat of the F-4, meaning that it would be guided by the GIB, REO, WSO, etc. and not the pilot? Further, the nuclear variant HAD to be authorized for launch by the pilot, but actually fired by the WSO, to maintain "two-man control" etc. Taber
