Fuze, Percussion, with Cap, No 49 Design RL202. Approved as CINO Design 43. A No 18 with the needle hammer lengthened so as to protrude beyond the head of the shell. Eventually developed into the 106 type. For 3in 20cwt AA and 6pr and 12pr Davis recoilless gun anti-Zeppelin shells. For the full history, see OBAR for 1916, p341. Approved by DNO 24/5/1916 in OC Min 4434 of 5/6/1916. DNOon 18/6/1917 says no further action as impact AA fuzes are only being retained pending provision of a suitable time fuze.
