Chargers

Some fine chargers Andy. I'm trying to get something straight in my mind. From what I've read in the UK they are called chargers and in US they are called clips? Or am I way off base here...Dano
Hi my friend,
and a rifle that uses a clip will not function without it, like your Garand rifle, love the ping they make when they eject,I Got killed so many times in medal of honour because I kept fireing off the mag to hear PING!
Cheers Tony

Mark V

Seems that mine has no holes (see drawing), will get the drill out tomorrow.

Can you mail me a copy of that please Norman.

I found one once, but someone we both knew had it out of my hand before you could say "look what I found...".

I tried to find it amongst his scrap metal but it seems to have gone AWOL, as I would have liked to buy it back.

Regards
TonyE

I have just been looking at some photos of chargers made at the Australian Lithgow factory. They made Mark III chargers with five round holes and Mark IV chargers with four round holes, as pictured by you. Their mark IVs do not have the oval hole at the slot end.

Unfortunately I do not know how they were marked, although it would probably be a star.

I will ask a NZ clip/charger collector I know.

Regards
TonyE
I have pictures for you and where they were made in Aus.

Hi Just wanted to show a couple of chargers both are stamped 1V and one has the oval and then three round holes where as the other has just has four round holes, is there any reason for this.
I also i have three chargers that look like Mk111's but i was told they were Italian made they are stamped from the top GM1V -GM 111-GM 11 and the bottom one is a genuine MK111
Andy
You have a Mk IV Modified. There is no change to Mk Number. Side cut through hole at end elongated.

The CASC is Cascelford Ltd Birmingham. The S is Steleonite Metals Stamping Co. 415 Old Ford Road London, FN Fabrique Nationale, Belgium.
