Code "ME" in the lot number

Does anyone know what the Code "ME" stands for in the lot number for the M142 on Lex's page:

When I did a quick search it brings up a German company. So my take is these are made in Germany?

My records say:
ME - Explosives Factory Maribryrnong, Victoria 3032/Australia
That also fits well with Lex's statement: The same device was used in Australia under the name F1A1.

Thanks ... that sounds about right. From what I was told the Australians actually developed the M142 and the US took the design from them. So it would make sense they might have bought them from them originally. Or maybe the US never made them and onl bought them.
