Cold war phones?

Hello,
I've been given a pair of phone set's which are in virtually unused condition and was told that they are Czechoslovakian cold war bunker set's. Each is in a bakelite type case and has two phone jack jump leads and a winding handle in each lid. There is a battery compartment in the centre of each under the handset which doesn't seem to have ever had a battery in them so these things may have been in storage and never used. I'm hoping that someone here may be able to tell me what type/voltage these cells would have been, it would be fun to get them going? When the handle is inserted and turned the phone bells will ring so there must be some sort of generator inside.
I'd be most grateful for any info regarding these?
Best regards,
navyman.

Hello,
They do look like field ones as you say. I'm going to get 100 mtrs of cable and try it, the jump leads are only 85 cms long. they are standard tip/ring/sleeve type, so will have to find a pair of these.
kind regards,
navyman.
