Dopp.. Zt.Z.S/60 help

Hey guys. I picked this very early fuze off of ebay. An early one considering the material used for construction and the waffenamt stamp type.

I am bit confused by all the markings, i know it was made by Rheinmetall. However there are multiple random letters all over the place. There are lots of X markings on the fuze. Does this even denote anything? I tried searching up this fuze type however it seems there are multiple variations of the Zt.Z.S/60. What specific type is this?

any help will be really appreciated!

...you are wrong about Rheinmetall it was made by Gebrüder Thiel AG. The Rh.S. was just "camouflage" for the inter-allied control commissions because Rheinmetall was the only company allowed to produce fuzes (Treaty of Versailles).

Originally produced in 1929 as a Zt.Z. S/60 (Time fuze) 9th Lot (90000 pieces produced at this time), 2nd delivery.

In 1932 it was converted to a Dopp.Z.S/60 (time and percussion fuze), 8th Lot (80000 pieces converted at this time), 3rd delivery.

It was a very good buy!

Thanks! I just went off of memory thinking Rh.s was Rheinmetall.

seems a lot of effort to refit the fuze for a different mechanism in those numbers.

I see you edited your post with more information. Thanks for elaborating on the Rh.S , This is a pretty interesting piece then! I got for £70 which was fair.

My last question would be what type of cannon would of have used it, I would assume navy 88mm to 120mm?

The Dopp.Z. S/60 was used by the army at least in 7,7 cm F.K. 16 and 7,5 cm F.K.16 n/A. About the Zt.Z.S/60 is nearly nothing known by me. If anyone has information about the Zt.Z.- I would be much interested. Normally Zt.Z. were used in anti aircraft role but Iam unsure if it is the case for the Zt.Z. S/60.

On forums only pictures of damages fuzes

Zt.Z.S/60. mit .Az für 7.7cm
and
Zt.Z.S/60. ohne Az für 7.7cm

The fuze is made in 1929 ;-) At this time they not even thought about the 21 cm aircraft rocket.
