Details on the fuze were double checked against German and US official documentation, and the manufacturer Junghans Microtec. The result was that its threaded rear is nominally 1.5", more accurately it uses the thread format of 1.5"-12UNF-1A.
The 1.5"-12UNF-1A thread format has a nominal external diameter of 1.5" (≈38.1 mm), a thread pitch of 12 threads per inch (TPI), so ≈2.1 mm. The UNF bit is short for Unified National Fine, whilst the 1A bit means a loose fit (the '1' bit) and an external thread (the 'A' bit).
