Experimental german artillery fuze?

I picked this up with a stack of bomb fuzes and was wondering what on earth it is? Strange increment ring around the side?

Hi Waff,
I managed to find a little info on the KBZ fuze series on another site, below is a rough translation. Hope it is of some help, nice fuze to have.

This is what I have found:

1 - it is an attempt of a non-explosive head igniter / flame igniter (KBZ)

2 - Effectiveness:

1st At the launch strikes due to inertia the primer against the pressure of a spring-down on the firing pin rigidly built.
2nd The resulting pilot injection ignites an ignition channel the Fireworks firing rate.
Depending on the setting 3 different maturities.
3rd After burning is ignited by the obliquely arranged Zndknal a black powder-Verstrkerungsstatz (powder grain)
4th About the blasting cap ignition charge of the active charge of the projectile is being implemented.
