I only know the brass French 22/31 fuze but found this alloy zinc? cover. Is it from WW1 or made later ? Was the fuze body also made from alloy or brass?
I am sorry but this fuze cover is made from brass. It has a gray coating that is probably just age and it sure looked like it was a different metal.
I rubbed some acid on a cotton bud on the inside and used steel wool. It is definitely made from brass. My mistake. Remove this thread if you wish. Ron.
