It seems very similar to the US M15 bursting white phosphorus (WP) hand grenade, but it doesn't exactly match the imagery I have. The head and base areas for example seem to be completely different? The fuze/detonator well is very similar however.

I presume it's an early variant used in France then? It's not in any US books I have, so what does the French book say about this version, such as dates of development and location of usage, etc...
