Help identifying a Mills Bomb

I have had this mills bomb for a while and I'd be interested in finding out where it's from. I doubt it's british, but beyond that I have no clue...

For comparison here it is between my no5 and no36 grenades:

Thanks

Do you have a close up picture of the base plug, it should have writing on it.

I would say that there is no center tube, judging by the amount that the base plug screws in and the off center striker. Could always be a 36 with a 23 plug screwed in. No makers stamp which is odd. Filler screw looks to be too good to be true. Can you post a pic of it stripped please? Oh and as one of the last posts asked, any chance of the details stamped onto the plug?

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the replies. The plug from the 36 won't fit on this grenade and there's no markings on the the base plug at all.image.jpgimage.jpg

Thanks for the replies, glad I know what it is. I didn't pay much for it and its fine as a pack filler for my 37 pat webbing so not too fussed its a repro

If it had a proper type base plug it would be a much better repro than the resin copies available in Canada. At least it's made of metal and has some weight.

Well as you say, if it's just to fill a webbing pouch then it fits the job fine. You could repaint it without worrying abut losing authenticity.

Mmmm. I picked up a really nice 36 body at War & Peace in the summer. It has standard threads and the Kendrick K on the front. It has the same patina as the one pictured. I'd be horrified if it was a fake.
