Icebox

The wife and I went antique shopping yesterday. What we were looking for was a pie safe, something to store our jars of goods we will can from the garden this year. We went in this mall type set-up and they did have a decent pie safe but we saw this icebox and immediately knew it was it. Excellent + condition with makers tag on front and on back 5 patent dates with the latest being 1920....Dano

Unbelievably, it weighs every bit as much as a modern fridge, yet has no motor or compressor (took 3 of us to get it in the house). One thing that fascinates me about "old stuff" is it all seems to have been built to last a lifetime (or two!!)...Dano
