Hi All
Would appreciatte help with the ID of these two.

The one on the left is very similar to a No 117 or 119 - is it a training fuze or dummy? No markings at all on it.
The transit/delay cap comes off and inside it is threaded for percussion parts.
Base is threaded for a gaine/booster.
Made of steel & plated.

The one on the right comes apart almost fully (now) & has been made safe as it was unfired.
Stamped B R 6 44 70A (June 44?). On the underside it has 13 in a square.
I am assuming this is a TP fuze?

Help appreciatted - as ever, also what caliber shells these would have been used on?

Hi Hicky 1300
Left is a D.A Percussion Fuze No117 Mk IV (steel )
Right is a time and percussion fuze No222 it was designed to follow the contour of the external fuzes 117 and 119 which would have removed the safety cap,it armed the shells for HE 25 Pdr gun.

As these are both for 25 pounders I find it interesting that the thread sizes are different?
Is the steel MKIV for later/post war use?
It would be inefficient to produce a shell body with different fuzes threads - surely?

The steel one looks more like a no.230, similar to the No 117 but has a shorter intrusion.

Hicky,

What diameter are they? Should be 2" 14 tpi Whitworth form.
