Hi BD
This fuze has never meet on shell in France
But it can be screwed on Gaine mle 1915 or gaine 40/55 (the fuze is here modified in 30/65)
Long delais maximum about 71s
Possibility for setting long range shell like 155 mm GPF
No more information about type of shell used
This fuze is very very very rare...........
Doctor is right . It's a "Vaucanson" fuze .
The French adaptation of the german ww1 mechanical clockwork fuze Dopp Z.16 or 17, i mean.
I have seen 2 variations :
one like this one (with pocket/detonator screwed) , one without any detonator .
....
(if i recover it in my boxes, i'll bring some pics on the forum).
..
May be used during the ww2 on heavy or long range artillery, because i have seen one fuze (very destroyed) found in some scrap waste some years ago.
