As i have found with a lot of Japanese cases the primer was easy to undo,seems they followed the British regs. on applying 'Petmans' to the threads.
I have found in the past that cold working the rims normally ends up with cracks, but heating the rim till it glows a dull red (annealing) followed by working the rim results in a near perfect finish. I have used the same process to re-fit projectiles back into unfired cases (simply invert the projectile with the pointy end first).
(Of course you'll require a good butane hand torch and plenty of space!)
