Japanese Fuze Trench Art Bombs

I believe I have discovered the origin of those strange little brass bombs made from WWII Japanese mortar fuzes. I think we have all seen these at one time or another. The picture below shows what was found in the closet of a WWII veteran. All these came from the island of Kwajalein. It looks the veteran was in the process of making some more but never finished.
