Japanese Fuze Trench Art Bombs

I believe I have discovered the origin of those strange little brass bombs made from WWII Japanese mortar fuzes. I think we have all seen these at one time or another. The picture below shows what was found in the closet of a WWII veteran. All these came from the island of Kwajalein. It looks the veteran was in the process of making some more but never finished.

Were any of the fuzes from the part made ones recoverable?

I was just in contact with the daughter of the Veteran who brought these fuses home in 1945. She is going to be listing all of these items on ebay this weekend along with some fuze boxes and other Japanese items that she found with these. I just started my new job (two weeks in) so I wont be able to bid.
