17 cm/40 (6.75") SK L/40​

 
Most of the guns were used at land in different carriages. Your shell is a HE shell with ballistic cap. Those were taken as trophies (probably found unfilled) to the US after war as this nice attached NARA document shows (I think I already posted it in BOCN a wile ago). The shells were only made by Krupp.
