Large shell case from Afghanistan - any thoughts

Good evening, A friend has asked me IMG_9902.jpegIMG_9903.jpegto try and establish what this case is - sorry no sizes supplied at present.
the only markings on it are; 46 22 over 87 13.

any thoughts what it could be?
