I will PM you with a rather poor diagram. It is in a format not accepted on here hence the PM. Somewhere I have a better diagram showing the device used on a Naval smoke float (probably for deception operations) and I will scan this in due course and post it for general consumption.
Patents GB127654 and GB132006 are informative on McAlpines 'fuzes' although this particular design is not illustrated in the patents.
