Minenwerfer fuse

Recently picked up these two heavy minenwerfer fuses, both in good condition.
One has a small hole with a circular arrow and the word fest engraved around it.
Can anyone explain the purpose of this.
Thanks in advance.

Fest means fix in German. The arrow shows the direction to turn the screw to set to fixed position which stops the percussion system from working.

Thanks for the info
I did manage to translate the fest to fix
Just didn't know exactly what I was fixing.
I have several of these, this is the first one with this function
